James Newman established his design studios in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter in 1999 after gaining a BA (Hons) in Jewellery and Silversmithing from UCE, Birmingham.
All work is designed and made in house, with new collections in constant development. Notable themes explored include the juxtaposition of textures, sculptural forms and the use of tactile elements. As a mark of authenticity and a guarantee of quality, all James Newman jewellery is hallmarked in accordance with current legislation, with a fineness mark, Birmingham Assay Office's anchor mark and the James Newman JJN maker's mark.
James Newman only uses diamonds of the finest quality that are guaranteed conflict free. Diamonds are graded by their clarity, colour and carat, James only uses diamonds of VS and above clarity with a colour of G/H and above (based on the GIA scale).
James Newman is proud to be a member of the British Jewellers Association and has represented contemporary jewellery designers on the national committee since he was elected in 2004.
