Collette Waudby Mavilo Ring in Palladium. A Commission and A Collaboration.
Alice loved Collette Waudby's Mavilo rings (see the original Silver and 9ct gold version here) but needed something a little more hard wearing as it was to be her wedding band. Taking Collette's original Mavilo as inspiration we decided that the perfect ring would be a single band created to mimic the look of two bands together with a single Mavlio leaf mounted to appear attached to one of the bands.
There were a couple of issues to overcome in the creation of this piece, not least the fact that Collette was going to be away for a few weeks at a crucial phase of the processes. This challenge was overcome by turning the commission into a collaboration project with Collette making her signature Mavilo leaf and another talented local jeweller creating the band and mounting the Mavilo.
We absolutely love the finished ring.
