Reading the title of this page you might think I've simply listed as many precious metals as I can - the gorgeous rings made with these metals tell a completely different story.
Alison got in touch and asked us to propose a new design for a stone set, 18ct White Gold ring that had been bought for a special birthday but wasn't working well for her.
She also asked if we would be able to propose a way for her to be able to wear an inherited, Diamond set, 18ct Gold and Platinum engagement ring. Allie proposed overlaying the ring onto a wider band, thereby keeping the original form of the engagement ring.
Alison provided us with two gold bands that could be used in the creation of her new rings.

Inherited 18ct Gold and Platinum, Diamond Set Ring
Allie proposed creating a new stackable set of rings by reusing the maximum amount of precious metals that were in Alison's exisiting possible, with the addition of new 9ct Rose Gold and 9ct White Gold to add contrast within the ring stack.
Design sketches were drawn up for approval and to allow any changes to be made before the existing rings were melted, the new rings handmade in the studio, stones set and each of the rings hallmarked at the London Assay Office.
Design Sketches for Alison's New Stackable Rings
The 18ct Gold of the existing engagement ring had worn away over the years which made it necessary for us to rebuild the setting in some areas. The metal from the 18ct Gold wedding band was used for this. The ring was then opened up at the back and shaped to fit over its newly made 9ct White Gold under band.

The Diamonds, Sapphires and Aquamarine used in the ring stack were those taken from Alison's existing birthday ring. The 9ct Gold used in the two rings set with round brilliant cut Diamonds was taken from the 9ct Gold band ring that Alison supplied (the ring was melted and reformed in the studio). The 18ct White Gold used in the ring set with the trillion cut Diamond was taken from Alison's exsiting birthday ring (another melt and reform). Ther 9ct Rose Gold and the 9ct White Gold set with Pink Sapphires and Aquamarine were made using new precious metals sourced by us at Plush Jewellery.
